My future wife supports me but not my family

And I’m tired of it. They always misgender me but not her, and I’m glad she loves me who for I truly am. Some times, I just want to move in with her so I can leave my Transphobic family behind.

Awkard Presentation

I came out to my parents as a transgender man, and they didn’t really believe me. I thought it wouldn’t bother as much. It doesn’t, but I find myself feeling awkward when I want to present myself in masculine clothes, let alone wear my binder around them. Even when I went home for Spring Break this past week and I had just trimmed my hair, my parents had a problem with it. I just thought they would be a little more lenient on how I dress my body. They still see me as their daughter and nothing is going to change that. To them, I was born a “girl” and that’s what “God” wants me to be. Sorry, parents. I don’t believe in your God. Never did.

Strict mother

Hi! This is less a confession and more looking for advice... I'm trans, but my mother refuses to accept it. She says that I "don't act like normal boys" and that I'm just trying to hide the fact that I'm a lesbian (even though I'm aro/ace) or trying to hurt her. The worst part is, I'm stuck with her for at least another two years and probably more and I'm scared to go to anyone else for advice. She's incredibly strict and I'm hardly allowed to do anything. I'm scared and upset... What can I do?

I hate lesbians

I hate lesbians. They creep on me more than any other demographic does. I rarely ever feel safe around them, because I’ve only met a couple of lesbians ever (both trans and cis) who aren’t predatory and/or invalidating.

My doctor actually said this

My doctor said to me “oh sorry, I cannot give you a referral for a therapist so you can get your harmones, because it is against my religion.”

I'm not "in the wrong body"

it bothers me when people (cis and trans) refer to me as "in the wrong body." surprisingly lots of trans guys do it, asking if i wished i was "born a real man" and i just feel so shitty... the reason it took me until the age of 18 to realize i'm a trans man is because everyone told me you had to feel like you were "a man in a female body." my body's completely male, even if i have major dysphoria; my parts aren't "wrong," just different. and they don't make me any less of a man. but it's hard to remember that when people both in and out of the community tell me otherwise :/ (USA)

I want to get brainwashed and forget everything

I regret I ever told anyone! I have never felt so humiliated! My boyfriend was pretending the whole time that he supports me and want me to be happy and after a year he got drunk and said he doesnt want me to go to transition. It was when I had already came out our friends, my family and his family (who by the way condemned me and his father doesnt want me to work for him anymore if undergo transition). I dont know how to live with him anymore and I cannot leave hime either, its not so easy. I cannot shift back to woman like he had known me before because a lot of things changed. I want to get brainwashed and forget about everything. I hate this life so much. I want undo. I want to return to time before comingout and live that shitty repressed - but relatively balanced - life before I came out. Now I got mess in my head, people look strangely at me, I became freak for them and I dont see the way out - in regards to my inner attitude. Tell me how to undo in my head? (Eastern Europe)

Any advice?

I'm ftm trans and transgender individuals in my country are unable to receive sex change operations or change their names or legal statuses. Any advice? (Armenia)

Struggling with demons

I am FTM trans, 27, pre-everything, and I've been struggling with my own demons for 2 years since I came out to a few people. The thing is, reactions of them are supportive because they are friends, I live as a man since then, I totally like it and I can say I started to be happy for the first time in my life and I am pretty successfull to pass as a guy, which makes me quite comfortable with myself for the first time. BUT I dont have a courage to take another step for transition. I live in a very conservative catholic country, there are problems with it in society and doctors and moreover after transition I would live openly as gay with my boyfriend (which is our common nightmare, but he supports me anyway) - now I have female name and nobody can say a word even though I look as a boy. I am not able to overcome fear of what would happen in the worst scenarios. I would be treated badly at university and work, bullied, laughed at, family would turn its back on me or they would treat me with contempt. And there will be no undo. Detransition is the most humiliating thing I can imagine. I am afraid I won't be able to fulfill demands and expectations as a man. I know maybe anything of that would never happen, but I am chased by guilt, confusing thoughts, fear and anxiety.
If there's anybody who would like to talk about it, I'll be glad, I'm leaving my contact
thx (EU)

Discrimination in sports

From what i saw, when a transman joins an only male competition, sports/gaming/etc , hardly anyone comments.
When a trans woman joins an only female competition, the hates receive goes from earth to pluto. People just assume males are always stronger/smarter/better than female in all aspects, this is all so wrong. (Singapore)

Start transitioning in Singapore?

Hello I'm a transman that's not from singapore, I prefer to not disclose my country as the LGBT community here are not openly accepted. Wish to start my transition in singapore :-)

Currently pre-T and 20 years old, saw few posts here about Ts, just wondering how much will the T shots costs and will I have to go through psychologists in order to diagnose me before starting T?

Approximate prices will help me alot, thanks admin for posting this and for all your answers.

Family supports transgenders but not me

My family supports transgenders, but not their own son/brother/nephew
They almost make me everyday to think about suicide and my therapist can’t help me because I can’t find an apartment for my own…

Too macho

I can't relate to other transmen. They have too much of a connection with being female. I gave always and will always be 100% male. And even then I'm too macho for the trans community.

I don't get it

So I'm really wondering why some trans guys when they get on T and have been on it for long enough to always pass, just suddenly start acting like they're better then you because you haven't transitioned as far medically as they have? Why put me down because my face is round and I got small shoulders? Yeah I'm 5"2' doesn't make me any less of a man... Like we all grew up the wrong gender, we're going through the same. I don't get it?

I regret trying to work as a male.

I had an interview today to be a security guard. It’s my dream job, only beaten by maybe police officer and international superspy. (And yeah, I know, what an incredibly mundane dream, but eh. We can’t all be actors and presidents and superstars!) I had the interview in the bag, job was mine, I had been assured of this. I had only one step left. I leaned forward, and asked “Is it alright for me to be hired as a male?”
I’ve been living as a male full time except for work for, oh, two years now? I had always just dealt with being a female at work because money is important. Money leads to surgery and legal sex change. But lately I’ve decided that I want to be male everywhere I go. I hear of trans women having no problems in this regard, being gendered correctly as long as they made it known that was what they wanted, so why should I? I pass just fine.
Instead i got a stammering response and an obviously uncomfortable boss who didn’t know how to respond. He basically said he’d never dealt with this situation before, he’ll talk to HR, he doesn’t let his personal politics get into things, ect, ect. And the whole time a feeling of dread was growing in me. I had fucked up. I was finally going to get my dream job and I just had to open my stupid mouth and fuck it up.
I left with assurances i would get further information by e-mail for the next few steps. I haven’t received anything. I’ll wait until next Friday, then go back to looking for other work.
It should have been a happy day for me. Why couldn’t I just keep my mouth shut and accept being called a girl, if only for a little while longer? Hell, I can’t even whine at my best friend and tell him what I did, because he’d basically tell me I was an idiot for trying. So I’m confessing it here, the fact I did it, and the fact I regret it with every fiber of my being.

As a black transman of color..

... I am afraid of being attacked or killed by police or over-vigilant people with weapons. This is my biggest fear next to losing my entire religiously conservative family.
My birth gender offered me about some protection. My actual gender offers me none. I am not physically powerful and use a cane. I am also afraid this will invite attackers who wish to take advantage of my physical weakness to prove themselves.

I have to get out

I need to transition, but I know that the moment I start, I'm going to lose my parents.  When I told them I had a girlfriend, my mom told me never to talk about it again, it was too much for them, I would ruin their reputation, and we haven't spoken about my life since then.

Every time I wear anything masculine, cut my hair, or accidentally reveal something that betrays my identity, I'm the instigator, I'm ""making waves"" and ""drawing attention"" to myself, and I'm guilt-tripped back into the closet.  I'm 24 years old and I feel like I'm suffocating.

I've been planning for the past year and saving money, and the moment I'm financially stable, I'm going to cut ties.  I'm scared.  I don't know who's going to hire me or where I can live, but I have to get out.

Transphobic family won’t let me get a “mans haircut”

I need to get this off my chest so I’m sending this here. I’ve identified as a genderfluid for years. I have a transphobic/homophobic family and I’m not allowed to get a “mans haircut.” I wear a binder everyday and men’s clothes. I’m a closet transgender. I haven’t told anyone yet and I’m too afraid to tell my friends and girlfriend. I’m 16 and have decided that the moment I can move out I’m going to get a haircut and come out. I’m just scared that people won’t accept me, and I already know I’m going to lose my family.
rainbowredo said: If they won’t let you cut your hair “like a man”, you could look for longer hairstyles for men? If you get a shoulder length haircut you could both pass and not have a “man’s haircut” (or, alternatively, get photos of celebrities with short hair) ^^

Hey there. I identify as FTM and my bro is gay. I’m still in the closet by choice  but my bro came out to my parents a decade ago. I’m from a conservative family. It took them a couple of years to accept it but they did come around.
Fear is a real bitch. What you can do is to write down all the possible scenarios that might happen, plan for those scenarios and build a supportive network around you. The reason for the fear is unpreparedness for what might happen. You don’t need to feel compelled to come out ASAP - give yourself time to prepare.
As for friends who will ditch you - haters will be haters. Find the true friends who will love you for who you are. Find it in you to love yourself.

My roommate and I are both trans guys

but he's on T and I'm not, and I probably will never be able to go on T.
But despite the fact that he's almost a year on T, I'm still more muscular than he is, and even though I try not to, I find myself lording it over him whenever I can.
I feel terrible about it, but being muscular feels like it's the only thing in my life which makes not being on T feel tolerable, and I don't know how to stop being obnoxious about it.
