Singapore's First Crowd-funded Transman Documentary

[Admin] Follow Some Reassembly Required on Facebook to get the latest progress updates on what's possibly the first crowd-funded transman documentary in Singapore. Also, go dig out some spare change and support the campaign.

Our story needs to be told. My hope is we'll all help this brave and talented young man tell it for us.

--

Hello Shay,
This is Christopher. Thank you so much for letting us use the confessions from your page for our crowd funding launch event. We had a really good turn out, and I think the confessions really stuck, in telling others unfamiliar with transpeople how much of a struggle being transgender can be.
I wanted to ask if you would be able to help us promote our crowd funding page as well? We’ve got a number of perks, and aren’t doing too badly, but any amount of money would help us to get closer to our goals of filming overseas.
The link for our crowd funding is: http://igg.me/at/srr, and our website is www.somereassemblyrequired.com
Let me know if there’s any more information you’ll need; I’ll be happy to answer your questions.
Thank you, Shay! Much appreciated.

As a transwoman, i would never ever have sex with anyone

why ? because the though of me moaning in a male voice disgust me. I would probably never be able to sound like a female

Shoe size

My shoe size is 36 but most of the men shoes I like are in size 39 or above.

Happiest

Just between us, I'm going out with an incredible transman right now and this is the happiest I've been in a while.

How To Make Love To A Trans Person

Hey guys  I just wanted to share with you a poem that I love so so so much, that I revisit from time to time.

"How to Make Love to a Trans Person

by Gabe Moses

Forget the images you've learned to attach
To words like cock and clit,
Chest and breasts.
Break those words open
Like a paramedic cracking ribs
To pump blood through a failing heart.
Push your hands inside.
Get them messy.
Scratch new definitions on the bones.

Get rid of the old words altogether.
Make up new words.
Call it a click or a ditto.
Call it the sound he makes
When you brush your hand against it through his jeans,
When you can hear his heart knocking on the back of his teeth
And every cell in his body is breathing.
Make the arch of her back a language
Name the hollows of each of her vertebrae
When they catch pools of sweat
Like rainwater in a row of paper cups
Align your teeth with this alphabet of her spine
So every word is weighted with the salt of her.

When you peel layers of clothing from his skin
Do not act as though you are changing dressings on a trauma patient
Even though it's highly likely that you are.
Do not ask if she's "had the surgery."
Do not tell him that the needlepoint bruises on his thighs look like they hurt
If you are being offered a body
That has already been laid upon an altar of surgical steel
A sacrifice to whatever gods govern bodies
That come with some assembly required
Whatever you do,
Do not say that the carefully sculpted landscape
Bordered by rocky ridges of scar tissue
Looks almost natural.

If she offers you breastbone
Aching to carve soft fruit from its branches
Though there may be more tissue in the lining of her bra
Than the flesh that rises to meet itLet her ripen in your hands.
Imagine if she'd lost those swells to cancer,
Diabetes,
A car accident instead of an accident of genetics
Would you think of her as less a woman then?
Then think of her as no less one now.

If he offers you a thumb-sized sprout of muscle
Reaching toward you when you kiss him
Like it wants to go deep enough inside you
To scratch his name on the bottom of your heart
Hold it as if it can-
In your hand, in your mouth
Inside the nest of your pelvic bones.
Though his skin may hardly do more than brush yours,
You will feel him deeper than you think.

Realize that bodies are only a fraction of who we are
They're just oddly-shaped vessels for hearts
And honestly, they can barely contain us
We strain at their seams with every breath we take
We are all pulse and sweat,
Tissue and nerve ending
We are programmed to grope and fumble until we get it right.
Bodies have been learning each other forever.
It's what bodies do.
They are grab bags of parts
And half the fun is figuring out
All the different ways we can fit them together;
All the different uses for hipbones and hands,
Tongues and teeth;
All the ways to car-crash our bodies beautiful.
But we could never forget how to use our hearts
Even if we tried.
That's the important part.
Don't worry about the bodies.
They've got this."

In love with roommate's girlfriend

I’ve fallen for my Best friend’s gf. This best friend also happens to be my roommate. My room is right next to his and I can hear them having sex almost every night. It sucks because she is so supportive of both of us and our transitions. Why does she have to be so perfect?! I just want to not be attracted to her and to go back to not noticing her.

Jealousy

I'm jealous of Chris K, we knew each other years ago and after taking T he's so handsome and has such a nice voice.

In My Shoes

TRANS*PIRE

Hi All! In conjunction with our crowdfunding efforts for our documentary movie, Some Reassembly Required is proud to present TRANS*PIRE.

In collaboration with Transman Confessions, we will be showcasing a compilation of true stories from the FTM transgender community. Are transgender issues an individual set of problems or do we have more in common than we think? Come on down and find out what makes us all the same.

Also, before things get crazy and hectic, the team would love to take this opportunity to meet up with everyone who has shown support and interest in our film. We invite you to spend some chill time with us as Chris shares his story with the public for the first time.

With great music, drinks and company, what’s not to miss?

For more information on the documentary Some Reassembly Required, please visit our webpage (http://www.somereassemblyrequired.com/) or our Facebook page at Some Reassembly Required

Health insurance in Singapore?

I know this is not a confession but can someone tell me is it possible for transgender people to get health/life insurance (Singapore) ? Thanks a bunch!

Band of close-minded zealots in Singapore

In light of all that has been happening in SG lately, with the band of close-minded zealots and their antics targeting the LGBT folks, I hope it will not sadden or anger too many of us caught in the midst.

Be kind, be compassionate, be helpful to people around you (family, friends, strangers), so that whether you are loud, proud and out or stealth to most and out only to some... because that is when people really get to know people like us as fellow human beings. That is when the ignorance and fear stops growing, and empathy and understanding spreads.

This is the positive difference each of us can make.

Rejected by girls

Well, I did approach the girls and it seems like I'm always rejected in a way..
I guess maybe I'm just too boring or the girls are mostly attached..
Anyway I ain't going to pin hopes on love and relationship now..
Just tired, sad and alone..
Going on a rather low time of my life now..

Thyroplasty

I am thinking of going through thyroplasty (voice deepening surgery) to get my voice to not sound like a little girl. Has anyone tried that? How feasible is it?
